[Derek'd read the note in the journal he'd found in the cell he'd woken up in, snorted at its ridiculous, and set about exploring in an attempt to find a way out. It hasn't gone so well. He's on the first floor of the library now, originally with the vague hope of trying to do some research, but instead he's resorted to the journal.]

All right. You caught me. Congratulations. The least you could do is come up with something mildly convincing.
