On the first day of Christmas, Oishi presented Eiji with a (poorly shaped) sugar cookie. Red and green sprinkles decorated the top and, though it was misshapen, Eiji still thought it was tasty. Oishi kissed the crumbs from the corners of his mouth.
On the second day of Christmas, Oishi showed up on Eiji's doorstep with two dark red gloves. Silver trim adorned the wristcuffs. They were beautiful and quite warm. They certainly protected his hands from the falling snow as he embraced his love in a grateful hug.
On the third day of Christmas, Oishi gave Eiji three white flowers, each tied with cheerful, multi-colored ribbons. For each flower, Oishi gave him a peck on the cheek.
On the fourth day of Christmas, Oishi gave to Eiji four tiny tea cakes and one small chocolate. Four is a bad number, after all.
The fifth day saw receiving five notes in Eiji's shoe cubby, each containing a small handwritten poem outlining the reasons that Oishi loved him.
The sixth day, Oishi left a length of red velvet with six small silver bells sewn onto it.
The seventh day of Christmas found Eiji with his favorite gift of the week: a small basket containing seven little tubes of his favorite toothpastes: strawberry, orange, almond, peppermint, banana nut, and cherry. It was his favorite gift of the week.
The eighth day found Eiji with a small assortment of hair care products: gels, mousses, and scented sprays to style his signture waves.
However, the ninth day started with no little surprises for Eiji. There was nothing left for him in his shoe cubby, nor was there anything on his desk. Oishi made no apologies to him during tennis practice, and nothing was waiting for him at home. He had to admit that he was a little disapointed, but he still held out hope that Oishi would surprise him with something.
The tenth day found Eiji waking with a pout. He confronted Oishi at school, completely unworried about appearing selfish in his needing of gifts. It was a shame that Oishi was too busy all day to talk to him. In fact, Eiji thought that it was downright suspicious.
On the eleventh day of Christmas, Oishi threw a pebble at Eiji's window, effectively waking him from his beauty sleep.
The redhead sluggishly dragged his body over to the window, stopping dead when he drew back his curtains. Darkness enveloped his boyfriend, receding away only from the light that shone in Oishi's undoubtedly cold hands. A familiar cone shape covered in multi-colored lights caught Eiji's gaze.
He pushed open the window, reeling back from the cold night air.
"Oishi!"
"I'm sorry, Eiji. It took me a while to make it," Oishi apologized.
Quickly, Eiji shut his window (leaving a confused Oishi to deal wtih the lack of explanation) and ran downstairs into the dark.
"Oishi!" the blue-eyed-boy called out as he ran through the grass in his bare feet, still clad in his pajamas.
Green eyes widened in surprise. Oishi thought that at the very least, Eiji would grab a coat and a pair of slippers.
"Eiji, you'll catch your death out here!" Setting the small tree down, Oishi slid his coat off of his shoulders and handed it to the smaller male. He had a thick sweater on; Eiji just had a cotton top. Oishi was far warmer without a coat than Eiji would be.
"Thanks, Oishi~!" He winked at the taller boy, his eyes trailing immediately to the apparently-forgotten little tree. "Is that for me?"
"..Ah, yeah. I'm sorry it's late, Eiji."
A pout was his initial response. "It was mean of you to not give me anything. It's been two days, Oishi."
In all hoensty, the brunet had lost track of time. "Has it been that long? I thought it was only a day late...."
"No. Two."
A look of guilt crossed over Oishi's features. "I'm sorry, Eiji."
After just a moment's hesitation, Eiji picked up the tree. "Oishi, come inside with me. ...I need to give you your coat back anyway."
Oishi made to argue that they could easily make the exchange on the doorstep, but at he devious grin on Eiji's face, he shut up quite quickly.
The next morning, Eiji awoke to a smiling Oishi hovering over him.
"Merry Christmas, love."
On the twelfth day of Christmas, Eiji's true love gave to him twelve little fish swimming happily in a miniature aquarium.
"...But Oishi," Eiji still felt the need to ask. "That's still only ten gifts."
"Eiji...wasn't last night enough to make up for the other two days?"
A flush covered both of their cheeks at the memory, but Eiji nodded. "Merry Christmas, Oishi~!"
