Here are my stupid questions... And no, the answers are not in my text book.

I need some help with my chemistry revision for tomorrow..... Can someone please tell me the Law of Combining Volumes? My chem teacher never taught us, yet I just realised it is on ( Read more... )

A bit late, sorry =P

You can tell different metals appart by the melting and boiling points, how good they conduct electricity and they magnetic factors.

Also ofcource their mass and such.

Question two I'm not really sure what you mean. But one good way of measuring the volume of something is putting it in a pre-measured amount of water. Say 100 mili-liter, ever cubic centimeter is 1 mililiter.

So this means that when you add a piece of metal to the water and the waterlevel is then say 127 mililiters the piece of metal is 27 cubic centimeters.

Hope that helped any.

Thank you so much for helping out! I think that the thing with the volumetric and gravimetric analyses was just a really horrid way of saying 'measure the volume of something' and 'measure the gravity of something'. (I worked that out four hours after the exam)

Duh, I can't believe how simple the answers to the first question are now that you've done them. Haha, I'm such a dickhead sometimes. Thanks again though, really appreciated.
