A. [VOICE: Filtered from drones, town officials, etc.]Good evening. Now that the excitement of the last few months seems to have calmed for the time being, I have several important questions
( Read more... )
I arrived in Mayfield almost exactly six months ago, although no longer consecutively. As for any sort of sudden deaths, aside from what Mayfield normally has done, there has been nothing of the sort from what I've seen and heard.
Not necessarily, but it's a possibility, particularly given the pattern of arrivals in town.
Before you were abducted to Mayfield, had you heard of that kind of death? There would have been a lot of them, enough to prompt news coverage. The killer became known as Kira.

Seiichi Yukimura. It's nice to meet you.
It sounds like you're expecting something like that to happen. I'll keep my eyes open, though with the way this town works, it's hard to tell what is and isn't Mayfield's doing.
I can't be sure whether or not to expect it, but it's better to be prepared. If the situation comes up, it's possible that killings will happen only in those circumstances where the town itself is already causing a lot of deaths. Even so, I suspect that the deaths will be unusual in retrospect.
(My first thought here was NOT FORTY CAKES, LEX!)quarter_englishMay 13 2011, 06:08:03 UTC
[L stares back at Lex. After a moment, he raises his eyebrows. This causes them to disappear under the hair that coves his forehead, and causes his eyes to widen. It all gives him a curious appearance.]

Miss Fortner.
I'm asking because it may be important in the future. The situation I described--
[He hesitates, and the cheer falls out of his tone.]
Are you familiar with anything similar to it happening--where you came from?

Frequently enough for it to have become a serious concern, recently.
It isn't a common ability where I come from, either. It's an unusual one; that's made it harder to stop the killer.

You look familiar--like someone I used to know.
[This is in no way true.]

I've been here about two months, give or take a few days, and all the strange deaths I've heard of were explained by the events you mentioned before.
