This has made my day. They are so crazy looking and yet adorable simply by virtue of being baby things. I just spent two weeks on this project and half the time we spent watching this live feed of some falcons living at the top of our university's library, who had just given birth to a baby. We rewound to watch the baby projectile poop like five times, then took screen captures. Nature is just beautiful.
Isn't it, though? How cool it must have been to watch the live feed!

LMAO! Now you can make gifs of the poopage.
I also saw The Widder catch a blob of poop in her mouth as it shot out of another chick's butt, and then fly away with it to dispose of it properly. She's quite the housekeeper.
I considered tacking an old bedsheet up, but then I noticed some young, brushy trees that needed to be culled from the corner of the yard anyway, so I sawed one of those down and set it up under the nest. It's got plenty of leaves and branches from top to bottom, so the chicks can land in it and grab a branch if they fail to fly on their first attempt. Hopefully the foliage will keep the cats from noticing them. I'll post an update later this week.
Meanwhile: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! YOUR QUARTET PICTURE IS ADORABLE! And what a neat little nest! What kind of birds are they?
What a job of work! Good for you and the Widder Barns. My nest of baby chickadees is out and about finally. No photos as they are tiny & timid (and quick)

Seriously, though, you must be so proud of your little birdy family! Congrats on all your efforts! They look disgustingly healthy and fit, hee.
