In the first nighttime shot, it's a reflection of the little colored lanterns. In the two shots under the thermometer photo, it's water droplets shooting up in the air from the fountain and splashing onto the pool's surface -- the droplets look shiny because they're reflecting the camera's flash. There was a full moon on the night I took the pictures, and it was gorgeous but in photos it just looked like an unidentifiable white blob. XD
My sister's house is only about a five minute drive away from mine, and to avoid the hordes of day-swimmin' nieces and nephews I usually swim there after dark (which is how I noticed that more lighting was needed.) Then I usually just spend the night at her house.
first I'm jealous of the 90 degrees after dark....(it hasn't been getting that "cool" til well after midnight here *bleck*) second.... Lovely. it looks cool and inviting, mind if I drop by for a dip? LOL
C'mon in! :D Heh, yeah, after triple digits all day long, 90 degrees actually feels kind of nice! The pool is like warm bath water even after dark, but that's plenty cool enough once you've dunked under and come back up.
And the best part about the new lighting is that it's basically just a string of white Christmas tree lights, and the Japanese shades are detachable. So if the string stops working, I can pop the shades onto the bulbs of any Christmas light string and put it back on the deck!
Ooh, does that raft have your name on it or what?! I'm rather in love with your private pool access.
Okay and is it weird that I'm wondering how you're going to work in a Fred/Spike swimming lesson in one of your fics now? 'Cause you know he can't even doggy-paddle... Those fetching little lanterns have the Burkles written all over them ;)

Are those stars reflected in the water or is it something in the pool?
