Well, I was going to do a BIG ITALY/HOVE FESTIVAL/MUSE/ZOMBIE WALK post and here it is. It's not going to be as big as I intended it too, but yeah..
ITALY
We lived at a hotel called Gardesano near Lago di Garda. Hotel was okay. Almost inpossible to sleep cause of the heat and the beds were SO FUCKING HARD! The food there was UH-MAZING and we got delicios pasta every day.
(I just had to)
The first day we went to Gardaland. Fun times. Since I'm a big sissy I mainly just got on the childrens ride
EVEN MY FRIENDS LITTLE SISTER, WHICH IS TWELVE, TOOK SCARIER RIDES THAN ME
LOOK! A REAL SPACESHIP!
(and I totally rode it even though it went reaaaaaally high up in the air and I've got a phobia for heigts.............. I thought I was going to die)
Left: Marie, the green thing & Ingrid Right: me riding the sissiest carousell at the park.
2nd day I first found a four leafed clover!
SEEEEE FOUR LEAFS FOR SRS
Then we went shopping at a mall in Verona.
And guess what I found at the record store there..... THE RESISTANCE LIMITED BOX EDITION WITH TWO LP'S THE CD/DVD, ONE MEMORY STICK AND A POSTER! Lol, I bought it.
We had much fun at the shopping mall:
We also played a concert at the hotel
I played a solo piece :3
At the third day we went to VENIZE. It was beatuful, but the town is a bit ruined by all the commercials and tourism. Ate lots of ice cream ofc. and bought this,
OLOLOLOLOL
SEE. Beautiful.
Last day we went to Lago di Garda. We played a concert with another norwegian school band and then just chilled at the beach.
We ate pizza. I have never ever tasted a better pizza (lmao, I look kinda disgusted by it in this pic though)
Later that night we had a little come together and said goodbye to the oldies.
WE ARE RETIRED PEOPLE NOW *SOBS*
I cried when I we parted at the airport home in Norway. The school band has been a part of my life in ten years now. I'm going to miss them.
Now it's time for:
HOVE FESTIVAL & MYOOOZE
TUESDAY: (We were at the barrier of the main stage, hovescenen, cause we were waiting for MYOOZE who were playing at 10:30PM)
It all started with a norwegian band called Kvelertak. We had been sitting by the barrier since 12:00 AM and now the clock had turned 4:00 PM or something. I almost fell asleep even though the singer just screamed all the time and the girl beside me was a huge fan and stod there headbanging and jumping. IDK. I THOUGHT THEIR MUSIC WAS BORING EVEN WITH THE SCREAMING AND I JUST WANTED TO SLEEP AND I COULD EASILY HAVE DONE IT BUT THAT WOULD BE DISRESPECTFUL.
2nd band was Alexisonfire. Had a great time. Singer tore his shirt into bits. It was funny to watch. Nothing more happened.
3rd out was Paramore. I'm not a big fan of them anymore, but I knew they are good live and they did their work pretty well. BUUT the whole thing was ruined for me by some drunk idiots who clearly just wanted to do bullshit. Paramore was finished 9:30 I think and there was just one hour left. I was all over the place.

MUUUUUUUSE
THEY WERE FUCKING AMAZING LIKE THEY ALLWAYS ARE.
There were so much pressure at the barrier during the concert. I seriously thought I was going to break some ribs, lose my breath, faint or die. Sadly the concert were ruined for my friend (who got dragged back by the people and therefore couldn't see a thing.... we are short people) and her little sister (she was at the barrier together with me and she got really sick and dizzy because of the pressure.. I really did believe that she was going to faint and the medic team and security guards asked her all the time if she was okay and they wanted to lift her out of there).
BUT despite not beeing able to stand vertically I had a good time. I couldn't jump because... well as I said I couldn't stand vertically, but headbanging like hell (especially during the riffs... MOTP<3<3) aaand I found out it's extra fun to headbang when you've got dreads... It was my kind of revenge to all the people crushing us.
Setlist:
1. MK Ultra
2. Map of the Problematique
3. Uprising
4. Supermassive Black Hole
5. Neutron Star Collision
6. Stockholm Syndrome
7. Nishe
8. United States of Eurasia
9. Resistance
10. Undisclosed Desires
11. Time Is Running Out
12. Starlight
13. Plug In Baby
-Encore-
14. Interlude + Hysteria
15. Man with a Harmonica intro + Knights of Cydonia
I got really bummed that they didn't play New Born, but rather than that I liked the setlist becaue NO GUIDING LIGHT AND FEELING GOOD!!
I really wanted MK Ultra. I got really overexcited when I heard the riff.
MOTP <3<3
I figured out before the show that they were going to play NSC cause I saw the keyboard under the soundcheck. I lol'd. I did want to hear it live (but I don't want it at Bergen... just had to hear it live ONCE) but the best thing (besides the fucking awesome movie thing in the background at NSC) was the keyboard stand because when he was finished playing the piano part it... it... rolled out.... by itself..... LOL'D IRL
Matt had some problems with something before UD. I'm not quite sure what. He played the intro on the keytar then stopped and looked back to the techs and then played again, stopped, turned to the techs again... Everyone was all WTF and then Dom just turned to us and raised his shoulders/hands like to say "I don't have a clue what's happening either".
Then there was TIRO (ossum), Startits (allright. eith lasers, they were ofc ossum, especially when you saw them in the trees lol).
I love when they use Interlude-Hysteria-MwaH-KoC for encore. At this point we'd been pushed ten meters or something from where we begin at 12:00AM. We were at the end of the stage on left side which meant we could only see Matt (not that it's a bad thing, but I want Dom and Chris toooo). During MwaH I couldn't see Matthew either since he was at his silver Dickinson amp.
Knights of Cydonia was just pure awesomeness. I'm sure everyone was having a great time during this. No one could have been there, seen that and say Muse were bad.
and noe some pics from the Muse concert. Didn't take any pictures myself cause I was so squeezed I couldn't move.
Orgasmic Matt........
Seemes like Dom had a good time too.
For Norway, this is a huge show... For Muse this is almost a intimate concert... Pfft 20.000? They played for like 100.000 at Glastonbury.
Chris looked smashing. SHINY CONVERSE FTW!
And Matt in one of his tin foil suits. I screamed "YESSSSS" in my head when I saw he was wearing it. THAT SUIT IS AWESOME AND IT ALMOST OUTSHINES THE GLITTERATI!
Oh and one more thing. Matt tried to say "God kveld, Arendal!" (which means good evening, Arendal in norwegian)... He's almost as good prononcing norwegian words as he does french words... which means almost no one did understand it. Took me half a minute to figureout what he just said.
After the concert my friends little sister almost felt asleep at the plain by the scene. She was really ill.
The morning after my neck and back hurted really bad. Just as it's supposed to be.
I didn't want to be at front row this day because of my back, but the sisters wanted to be at the barrier during Biffy Clyro (at the main stage). Since there was so few people there I was front row during the two first acts. First bnd was Angels Motel. Norwegian band, okay but nothing special. I don't think any of the people were fans of them. Poor guys. I did catch one of their drumsticks XD Next band on was Two Door Cinema Club. Awww, they were so cute. Talented, but not my cup of tea. Enjoying to watch though cause they had good energy. After TDCC I went to tent to listen to Kråkesølv (norwegian band again), but I found them boring, went to the amfi to hear Every Time I Die instead, but didn't like them either so I went to the main stage to hang with the sisters. Went back out before the concert. Biffy were good, but again I didn't find their music interesting enough. During the last song of their set I ran off to the tent because Florence + the Machine were supposed to play there at the moment Biffy was done at main stage. FLORENCE WERE AWESOME. That girl, I love her. And she played a brand new song (never played before). She looked like some kind of lost princess. After Florence we saw Them Crooked Vultures perform at the main stage. Rocking long impros. Dave Grohl kicks ass at drums. We ended the day with Dizzie Rascal at the amfi (hoped to see him and Florence perform together). Didn't like it.
At thursday I was pretty fed up with everything cause my neck and back hurt AND my allergies had kicked inn. IT WAS A LIVING HELL. I'm never going to camp ever again. The allergies kills me. We saw some metal-core bands at the amfi. blagh. At main stage we saw Martina Topley-Bird, Nas & Damian Marley and Massive Attack. Martina's music was special. Interesting, but her voice didn't fit her music. SHE HAD A NINJA DRUMMER. The set was short and cute. Almost no people there. Poor girl. The plain was almost full during Nas & Damian Marley, but Hip Hop and Reggea isn't my thing, call me when there's ska instead. At this point I was really bored, but then there was Massive Attack. Their trip hop and big screen showing tabloid headlines really caught me. I really needed some werird thing by now. Even though I loved Massive Attack (I AM GOING TO BUY A RECORD WHEN I GET MONEY) it was a total miss from Hove. Almost no one could understand what it was all about. Again, poor guys.
The last day I felt better (having taken a double dose of my allergy medicine). We watched Pony the Pirate (norwegian version of Arcade Fire). They had an awesome sax player and even a flute player (my heart melts when I see people using the flute, MY INSTRUMENT!), buuut musically it was a bit boring. Then there was The Drums. eugh. and Vampire Weekend. Almost got my heart... almost... We also watched a popular norwegian hip hop group called Karpe Diem. I didn't know how much I hated them before I saw them there. eugh. Arcade Fire hedlined at the main stage. Musically = boring. Sorry. But what the singer did after their final song was kind of epic (too tired to write it down now).
The whole festival ended with Pendulum at the amfi. I was really tired, but when I think back they were good and I think I like them, but I'm not sure yet. I do remember that they had an awesome screen at the stage with some cool vid.
lmao bad review is bad.
And I made a shirt after seeing Matt with his tin foil suit.
Line Beate
You forgot your tin Foil hat, Mr Bellz...
I've already posted it here, but anyways..
AAAAND I almost forgot this. There was a litterature stage at Hove Festival. Some authors were there and read from their books. KNUT NÆRUM WAS THERE AND HE'S LIKE ONE OF THE FUNNIEST GUYS IN NORWAY! I love him. We listened to something he'd PROBABLY release the autumn if everything goes as it should and if not we are the only one to ever hear it.
And look who I found when I was chilling at the plains at the main stage:
KNUT NÆRUM GAIS!!!! (I look horrible, lol. I'M NOT USUALLY THAT UGLY!)
I'LL GO ON NOW!
At last there was Oslo Zombie Walk last weekend. It was awesome.
Who should have thought it would be so much fun walking around town as a braindead zombie.
Zombie me is not amused.
My shirt says "Ha en fin dag" which is "Have a nice day" in norwegian. Oh the irony.
I loved my flesh wound. It looked really neat irl.
Next year I want to do it myself and make loads of loads of wounds and splash a bucket of fake blood all over me.
Some other zombies
These two were awesome zombies!
YUMMY!
OKAY I'LL STOP NOW!
JUUUUST ONE MORE THING
I'M SEEING MUSE ON FRIDAY YESSSS
and if you wonder, yes I don't have dreads anymore *sobs*
POST DREADS CURLS!
okay I'll stop... bye
NO WAIT I HAVE TO TELL ONE MORE THING!
My beloved Amanda Palmer released a EP today of Raidohead covers she did on a ukulele. I love it and AM GOING TO BUY IT!
Since she's not on a label anymore she needs us fans to promote. So go get it! It costs a min of 0,84$ ( ca. 0.50$ goes to Radiohead and ca. 0.30$ goes to paypal), but you can give everything from 1$ to 1.000.000.000$ if you want. Or you can ask me to send you the files after I've purchased it. She just wants her music to be out there.
blog.amandapalmer.net/post/836324104/ukulelehead-is-out-webcast-party-is-today-6-pm Edit: I wrote this 2AM this night so it's really bad. Oh, and now I'm kinda dissapointed at the Helsinki show... Bergen will probably be the same. I hate living in Norway.
