Fancy!

While visiting my old haunt in London, I came across a new yarn by Koigu: Fancy Merino. It is a nice soft boucle with the handpainted colouring of koigu, and it is very reasonably priced.

It looks great. Somehow even the back of the futon looks great, I thought you had some new books. But it is a great design idea. I have all lengths of scarves and I like short ones as well.

Necessity is the mother of invention! If we don't tuck in the throw it slides down as soon as we sit on the futon :)

I like a long scarf also, but they are a little more casual, and I wanted a more fancy scarf in the end. I think it will look very different with fringe. Perhaps a knotted fringe?

Knotted fringes are lovely. I think you should go for that.
My sideways garter scarf was done with 250 st and it's as tall as I am. I think that short scarves can be very useful and easier to manage. Plus the fringe will give it added length.

After 7 days of knitting socks I have a matching dent on my right finger.

Socks socks socks socks!

I need to get something cast on... I have nothing on the go right now, knit-wise! Mittens, I suppose.

very nice! boucle has been calling my name lately, and i have been trying to ignore it, lest it start talking about nice, fitted pullovers. picking up loads of fuzzy hard-to-see stitches is not my idea of fun.

what i wouldn't do for a store around here that carries koigu...

how much is that new koigu stuff anyway? the play between the handpainted colours and the texture is just gorgeous.

The kit was $28... Haven't seen it outside the kit yet.

that's a good price...and while we're won the topic of good prices for kits that HandMaiden Jane Origami pullover sweater kit is $56 at RAM wools (which i didn't think was terrible, either.) with that one, though, the question is how much do i want to be sucked into a sweater's snare because of the name alone? i wish there were better pics of it online.

Really pretty scarf! And some nice spinning going on, too.
