Finishing School

Ladyknits and I hatched a plan last week to start fresh in the new year. We decided it would be cathartic to finish up those lingering projects that prey upon our consciences. She is already making mad progress of course, while I am plodding along. The projects in question for me are:
  • Silky Wool Birch! I have 20 repeats or so left on the needles, but it ( Read more... )

I don't think I saw Birch, but silky wool it must be great. I agree working ever decreasing rows sounds great. I'd never cast on that number to begin with, I have trouble counting. The socks looked great and York was fab. Remember to wash the zipper first.

Hmm, I will wash the zipper today so that if when I finish York it will be ready.

Birch was languishing in a dusty basket when you were here. It WILL be lovely, right now it looks like a pile of string.

Yeah, I like our plan but I'm running into some problems. For one, when I got back to working on the Silken Spencer, I rediscovered how painful that yarn is. It has minimal give and does not make for easy knitting. I decided to set it aside pending review.
I'm almost at the heel of my 2nd Christmas sock so that should be done soon. I haven't touched my shawl yet. I think I'm a little frightened of it after what happened last time.
Plus now I'm going to make a hat for mom this visit. We're getting the supplies tomorrow.

Good luck with your projects. If you try hard you can do it :)

You are in a much better place to tackle that shawl now, with less stress, anyhow.

Besides, beyond SS and the Swallowtail, what is standing in your way?

I just turned the heel of my 2nd Christmas sock. I'm hoping to finish that tomorrow. Then I can turn my attention to Swallowtail. Mom has requested a FI hat and we're getting the supplies tomorrow from Michaels so I need to do that before I leave. The Silken Spence is definitely not going to happen since it's still in London :)

You are humming along. I am down to 19 repeats on Birch now. Feels like it is just flying now!
