I'm not sure about the retconning of Naomi's sexuality. It was hackneyed and out of nowhere, and I don't really think it was a good resolution of the myriad of problems they were having, but it was also sweet. And right now, I can forgive a lot for sweetness.Agreed. I CAN NEVER REMEMBER WHAT I POST IN COMMENTS AT PEOPLE so it's possible I'm being redundant, but Naomi's sexual confusion and her undefined sexuality overall in s3 was one of my favorite things about the entire show, it was so realistic and I identified so much and usually they show queerness as this either/or thing you're just aware of FROM BIRTH, so it meant a lot to me to see a character not only questioning but questioning and not having any instant, easy answers

Plus I love that Emily/Naomi, the f/f couple, and Thomas/Pandora, the couple with the Congolese boy and the weird chubby [by Hollywood standards] ditzy white girl, were the two couples that got happy endings. Silly, improbable happy endings maybe, but it's just such a nice subversion of who usually gets romantic priority in media. Especially trashy media!!
Yeah, I think that's why I am not so phased/bothered by it - the mixed race couple and the queer couple get the disney loveliness, while the pretty people are confused and mostly alone. Not that I think that Effy et al are uninteresting or deserve bad endings, but it IS nice to see the people that are so often ignored in this type of media get some happiness and their storylines resolved. Although I guess that means that the movie is going to be a rehashing of the love triangle that won't fucking die.
I am glad you enjoy the ramblings I produce when I should be studying for my (second) econ midterm :D:
AND YES I NEED ALL THE THOMAS/PANDA/EFFY/KATIE IN THE WHOLE WORLD PLZKTHX.
