Did I make the right decision? Part II.

So this week, on Monday, my professor acted as if nothing happened. Oh well. Then on Tuesday I received an email from him saying:

"Upon more detailed review, with the test in front of me, you did the right thing in cleaning up some of my 'hanging chads'. Thank you for that. However, the substantial extra stuff on II-c was not necessary."

This is a lot friendlier than the previous hostile email he sent me. I spoke with him yesterday in more detail. It was possible to do II-c with the knowledge they had; however, they would have to make some key assumptions that were not clear. With the equation I gave them, it made the problem longer and slightly more complex but had no assumptions needed.

Oh well. I made a choice and he now respects that choice. Since few people got that one part of the test, I believe he decided to make it "extra credit".

I spoke to several other graduate students, and I find it interesting how many students would not have done anything. Im not sure how I feel about it but its just an interesting thought.

Thank you everyone for your comments on my last post. I appreciated it. (plus it is the most comments I ever received. It made me happy)
