Here is a great recap of the vegan cake competition I attended last Saturday with zebrallama.
My two favourite cakes, at least in terms of being most beautiful, are below the cut:
This one was (obviously) spectacular, but had an odd aftertaste due to the high amount of food colouring. It came second in the "Best Dressed" category.
This one was entered by a woman who has done a fair amount of mehndi in the past. It was on a cake based on a vanilla cupcake recipe from VCTotW. It won Best Dressed and came second for Most Delicious, I believe.
ALSO. If you're in Melbourne and haven't been out to Tart n Round in Thornbury yet, YOU MUST. All vegan, all gluten free, and SOOO DECADENT. inthezoo and I went for the first time today, and each spent more than $30. On CAKE (and vegan cheese). alyssa22, this is an order.
