Where to seder in Bangkok?

Mar 20, 2008 13:50

I want to get a hotel near to wherever I'm going to for Passover seder. And since I don't know any better about where to have seder, how about picking where I want to get a hotel, and then going to which ever seder is closer by?

So, the top picture shows where the Royal Palace, the Reclining Buddha and Khao San Road in the area called Banglamphu. The Khao San Road is backpacker central is - there are lots of hostels and cafes and things like that. If you've read The Beach then the first chapter is set on the Khao San Road.

Sukhumvit in the bottom picture is a couple of miles east past Siam Square - and is more upmarket and less touristy.

If you want to talk more about Bangkok and Thailand then give me a shout.

I'm totally going to grab you for lunch and/or booze at some point!

Two other people have told me to go for the further-out place, but definitely to plan a few hours of hanging out on Khao San at some point.

When I lived there people just assumed I was Christian. I'd try to explain, but the words for "Jew" and for "mosquito" are very similar.
