Like a Girl

I love this ad campaign.  I've worked with so many young women who really begin to struggle around the middle school age that I felt compelled to share this.  If you haven't seen it, don't be fooled by the "tampon commercial" statement.  It is sponsored by Always, but is not a tampon commercial. :)

I think they did a great job - very effective "story" telling. And relevant. My lovely nephew (8) is at the age where he hears a lot of this from his friends at school, and unfortunately has started to bring it home, and has been telling his little sister that she throws like a girl every time she goes outside to play with him. Yet, he's a compassionate, reflective kid who is receptive to feedback. They all grapple with their identities and how to interact at this age. I know I surely did.

It's great to hear from you. I've got your latest 7B fics on my list to catch up on, and I'm hoping to narrow that list down soon - quick as a bunny. :)

P.S. Love your icon and the very proprietary paw on the tennis ball. Reminds me of a soccer player waiting to be called in from the sidelines.

When I emailed you last, I said I didn't have anything useful to add--but I am sharing this with my daughter who falls in this age group. Thanks for sharing.
