like any new environment, it'll teach you things about yourself and what you want from life. it's just a really radical one, so it's harder to adjust... hang in there!

Ganbatte. Acclimatising isn't easy. I can somewhat understand how you might be feeling. From my brief experience having gone alone on exchange in a small town in New Zealand for half a year during uni - having to get used to shops being closed by 6pm, the lack of public transport at night and the low frequency of buses even during the day, expensive food, expensive everything, communicating with people with entirely different cultural backgrounds (and I also went smack in the middle of winter and was all :( at the cold in the beginning) - it's completely different from what we're used to, and I know that it isn't easy. BUT I'm sure that you'll learn to adapt, appreciate the differences, slip into the way of life there, and maybe feel a little awkward even when you first return to Singapore after it, and when you look back in the future, you'll think of it as an experience you're glad to have in your life. (That's how it was for me.)
