well, you know MY answer... absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is another side (another world, if you will). your statements about belief are somewhat reminiscent of Terry Pratchett :P although difference is, he often says "some things happen whether you believe in them or not" (one, off the top of my head, was in reference to the "gods") i like his ideas, some things run on belief (small gods) and others don't need belief at all, they just happen. if any of that makes sense, sorry.
i understand pratchetts view, that things become stronger with more beleivers to the point where it doesnt need someone to believe in it for it to happen to them, it just is, whether they like it or not. such was the case in small gods and Om the turtle. another example in pratchets novel are things like the boogie man, who lives behind peoples doors and is scared of the dark. and the crocodile god, who is lord of the 5th dimension i think. THATS an interesting one.
i have my own beliefs... part of which i do not "believe" anything.... including science. ok there was a bit of contradiction in there, but i can't be fucked being so EXACT and specific as people try to make me. DAMN YOU FUCKERS sorry, im in a really bad mood at the moment, but i would like to discuss ideas sometime with you...
understandable. so you dont believe in science? thats completely feasable considering everything you learn in physics and chemistry is basically a theory. most of it is still unproven, but it works when they do it, so they think its right. however, so many mistakes are still made.... SO many.
anyway.
stop being in a bad mood and id be better inclined to speak with you :P
*nods* Ideas on belief are subjective. But thats reasonably obvious...
Yes, I believe in the paranormal. Though, thats a ridiculous word. I believe in the normal - the "paranormal" as it were, being part of that norm, not a seperate segment. Its not like we say potatoes exist and the rare mongolian pink and blue blossom flower dosn't... (even though it might not)...
Anyways, I think you should know to a point what I believe in mate...
are we going to be directly quoted in the documentary? lol. ok.. so heres me. and my opinion too... the "paranormal". I do believe in a part of it, but I haven't experienced it personally, so for me there is a room for non-believing too. the position i find myself in is; if i don't believe in it, then i won't ever experience it myself. does the paranormal go to people who believe; and those people only? there must be something out there. like; how can so many people have experienced it without it being there. not everyone can be psychotic like tom :P the other question is; does the paranormal have anything to do with why we're here? i mean, if they connect with some people, does that mean that the reason for those people being on this earth because they were meant to be contacted? what does that leave for us who haven't been... why are we here? does the paranormal exist only to help believers make their own contact with non-believers? thats enough from me :)

Thats what it all boils down to, perception. Our interpretation of what we see hear and even smell. Our Lives a based on perception as a whole and we shape ourselves not only to our own perception but o that of society as expressed in social morals and obligations. As to how this relates to the paranormal? well as i said our lives are shaped by perception therefore as soel said "because its impossible to stop beleiving in such a concept as life, or reality, because you have experienced it" yes we have experienced it but because each of us is different life is a many faceted amorphorus shape changing hemaphrodite (if u get what i mean). it isnt tangible and either is undeath, the anti life, ghosts call it what you will its not something u can reach out and touch but i believe there are strange things out there (or in here) and they may not be what you would xpect. -Star
