CITY UPDATES
Spring is in full blossom as the the sun continues to shine down on the island of Soeldei. The seas are plentiful once again and the fisherman have been making good profits at the markets with the catches they bring in, but they now have the farmers to compete with, as the gardens and crops tended by many of the island residents are being harvested and sold at market, as well. The April showers that exist elsewhere do not occur here in the way they would expect to be and such rains are light and not long-lasting, providing the farmers with just enough fresh water to keep their crops alive and growing. Unfortunately, as the new month approaches, the rains are become scarce and the farmers will soon have to rely on other means of watering their crops, as well as forcing them to salvage what they can in soil that will be dry and cracked by the time the middle of the month rolls around.
While the ordinary focus on such trifle day-to-day matters, the factions are still wondering: who has the treasure? This is a question that has not yet been answered, as all efforts have been in vain. The Soel Aulic Council appears to be of no help to anyone, ignoring and turning away any requests for an audience by anyone who attempts to gain one. This is something that pleases the nameless owner of the treasure, as things are working wonderfully in their favor with little effort on their part. And, they are about to receive another blessing that will take attention off of themselves in the form of a shipwrecked survivor who has washed up on the island and taken refuge at none other than Miss Polyxene's hostel...
BANAUSOS
With the bountiful supply from the sea and the early harvests from the land, there is a lot of profit to be made. Make sure you get your share. Be out there talking to the farmers and fishermen, making as many good deals as you can. Look to the future, as well: contacts you make now will certainly be more likely to deal with you again next year.
BRAHMIN
With ships under attack, who knows what might be the next target. It certainly couldn't hurt to be vocal about the likely actual proponents of this scheme. If people are busy following the usual leads, no one will think to suspect the unlikely, and certainly your friends the Congeries are unlikely. Keep up your usual parties, there's no reason they should be suspect, after all.
CABAL
For once, Cabal, there is something afoot that you are being blamed for that was not your doing! The Cabal does not claim the work of others! Do not agree and say that you had a hand in this, Cabal! Be indignant! You were not to blame. But...go ahead and take advantage of the chaos. Say you know who did it. Blame others! Spread some rumors! No use in letting all the commotion go to waste.
CONGERIES
Everything is going according to plan, Congeries! Now, don't do anything that would give it all away, but it's not like anyone would believe it, anyway. We have nothing to gain in having done this. Instead, make offers to help with whatever you can as we would in any other situation and go about your business as usual. Watch and listen, but otherwise, don't do anything that would clue anyone in.
HIEROPHANCE
Many seem to have forgotten about the person who found the treasure, but not you, Heirophance! Time to gather your magical resources and use them to your advantage! See what you can come up with by means of locater spells and other such methods that might be helpful in discovering this person's identity. Let it be the Heirophance who solves this mystery! It's due time for you claimed some glory for yourselves.
LEGION
This is the perfect time to put your patrolling to use, Legion! It couldn't hurt to talk to a few members of the Congeries about the sailor's accusations, but a better explanation would be that their pins had been stolen. There are two factions likely to be the cause of this all, and they certain have little enough scruples to lie about all this, too. Maybe a little bit of time in lock-up would make them more talkative.
MAFIOSO
You didn't do this, Mafioso, but you're going to be blamed regardless. Protesting it will get you nowhere, so why not just make yourselves scarce, instead? Let Cabal take the fall for this while you yourselves can't be found. This may mean cutting down on your usual activities, but better that than time spent in jail. Lay low for awhile; you can always make up for this time later.
VIRTUOSO
As the most wise members of the Virtuoso know, the attack on the Apostello is cause for much concern. However, it is not our concern. Instead, continue on with your research into matters regarding the treasure. The identity of the man or woman who holds it is not important - it's what the treasure is. Surely, there must be documented records of it and what it is somewhere. Find it, Virtuoso!
