You might like to know that your comment on the nature of a "Ianto Jones from any dimension" has sparked off a plotbunny frenzy in my head. Hopefully, something comes of it... we'll see!
The thing about Ianto is that he's mature - old beyond his years, like Jack puts it. This Ianto has even more cause to be that way than canon!Ianto, because of what he goes through. And that kind of steady patience and always taking things in his stride, that part of him? Jack needs that, and that's why Jack turns to him for support. Ianto's his rock. Or that's my theory, anyway, and I'm sticking to it.
Also, my beta and I both fell over ourselves laughing at the last bit of your review. O, Myfanwy!

I was thinking about Ianto's personality, and the way he seemed so comfortable with antiques etc - and then this idea popped up and refused to leave me alone!
As I mentioned to another reviewer, it's Ianto's ability to take pretty much anything in his stride that draws Jack to him. Ianto grounds him, and so it's no surprise he turns to Ianto in 2000. I'm glad you liked this so far - the next part will be posted soon!
