I'm awesome

Why am I so ridiculously self-confident? It's not like I'm never insecure or don't feel that I could improve X facet of myself, but, yeah. When I say totally arrogant things like "I'm fucking awesome", I mean it.

Why aren't more people like this? I know a lot of totally badass people who would rather die than say so out loud and believe it.

Because people may have the power to hurt me if they disagree. Not hurt-my-feelings hurt me, but actually keep me from doing something that I want to do because they dislike me doing what they perceive as overestimating myself, regardless of whether they're right or not.

I'm tired of fighting that. Besides, if I actually am good at something, my work should speak for itself.
