Give me quiet time to reflect, read, pause, cook, eat, think, and converse thoughtfully with a few people looking to do the same; give me tinkering time, give me experimentation time, give me space to write or play piano or guitar. I'd choose it over bars any day.
Someday I'll come out to California and visit you, Nikki, and we should hang out and catch up. In someplace that isn't a bar. :)

You should come visit us. There are nifty restaurants and things too. And Ellen is a fan of bars that aren't loud and raucous, so we have had some very pleasant bar outings too.
