So.. I managed to ruin a pair of shears. Oopsie.

Blossom:

Letter jacket is almost done. I had to re-draw the sleeves because it made the jacket sit incorrectly. When I did, you could see the back of the dress very clearly. Minor setback.. I re-fitted the dress, and hopefully once I sew it back together tomorrow, I'll be done; aside from small details like the buttons and transfer.

Controlling the satin stitch was really hard. I'm actually glad I went with painting my kururiuri kimono, rather than adding the designs by applique as I was originally planning. Satin stitch could look better, but I don't have the time to keep doing it until I get it right :(

Jacket aside, the shoes were actually much less painful that I thought they would be. They are looking pretty good considering how they were constructed. I'm unhappy with how they velcro in the back (didn't correctly account for velcro in my pattern) so one of the shoes looks.. odd in the back. BUT ASIDE FROM THAT, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

I'm almost done with blossom. All that's left is the belt which is mostly being put together by Liz.

SEDUSA

I don't think I ever posted this; but it's from a while ago. Daniela and I murdered a princess seam dress pattern to make Sedusa's top. We decided the best option would be to sew the top to a bra with invisible straps, since the wig will be covering them anyway. Daniela needs support, lol.

Meet fail glove.

Measuring tape is your friend. use it.

Over the weekend, Daniela and I had a slumber party. We slept about two hours.. but finished the majority of the costume. I'm pretty happy with how the leggings and gloves came out. The leggings have four seams like the in the show :D. We started her corset and got most of the rest of the costume cut (like the snake around her neck.) She still needs the grommets to finish it up; I'm picking those up from Tandy tomorrow afternoon.

Pepperr!! ♥

For the record. Styling heat resistant wigs is NOT fun. Maybe I'm just stupid, but neither my CHI straighter, nor my curling iron even dented this wig. Steam worked well, but I had to shoot bursts of steam for about a minute just to set one curl. I alternated between steam and a hairdryer. Originally, we were going to harvest the green wefts from this wig and sew it to clip ins, to clip into daniela's hair.. but for some reason I deviated from that plan. We wanted a two-toned black and green look, but obviously this didn't happen, since I decided to just style the wig. It was too pretty to destroy ;_; I think if i did this a second time, I'd take this apart and weft it into a black wig for a two-toned wig, but.. not right now. Either way, what resulted was a crazy curly looking wig. And I like it. This is Daniela's birthday present :D
I foresee borrowing this wig in the near future.

I thinned out my eyebrows. Not sure why, as both costumes have long bangs. I proably should have done this for kusuriuri rather than blossom..
