draft number four of the thesis paper was handed back to my student mailbox today, with comments from the the writing professor.

foremost, he is a HISTORIAN.

this means that besides the fact that i cannot read his handwriting 86% of the time, it doesn't really matter -- as most of his comments open with the same word followed by a period.
