So what was wrong with your A/C? need to recharge the freon? or simply cleaning the filters?

The big surprise for US was the 1/2" layer of CAT FUZZ covering the coils/fins - the unit in the house where the air was actually cooled before being blown through the ducts... I'm not kidding - I saw it! who'd've thunk, eh!

so now we have 2 filter levels - the most external are the main intakes in the walls - we have 3 cheap 1" filters, 1 on each wall, to catch the cat fuzz - and those get changed out every month... then there's the HEPA filter that's like 3" thick to catch what the cheapo filters don't - that gets hosed out at least once a year, maybe more often as needed...

we still get dust bunnies, but they are NOT coating the A/C condenser coil & fins... and the cooling is the most powerful I've ever experienced... which Bry loves of course - me, I get to wear fuzzy PJs and sweaters to keep from freezing... LOL!
