mmom It wasn't that Scorpius wanted his father to be unhappy. Far from it; he loved his father, and wished him only the best. In fact, when Charlie had moved into their home, Scorpius had been happy. Happy his father wasn't moping around anymore, happy he wasn't denying himself joy out of some misguided notion it would upset Scorpius.
Scorpius just wished it didn't have to be Charlie. Charlie, who was famous throughout the school as the fittest Professor to ever teach. Charlie, who taught Quidditch and Care of Magical Creatures in a way that made you fall in love with them both, just because he was so enthusiastic. Charlie, who had been the subject of furtive bedroom wanking in more dorms than just Scorpius'.
Scorpius had thought the teenage crush would wear away as he got used to Charlie being a permanent fixture in his life, but it hadn't. And now he was twenty-two years old, usher at his father's re-marriage, and wanking furtively in a cupboard under the stairs over his brand new step-father.
Reaching into his pocket for his handkerchief, Scorpius' fingers brushed something hard and cold. Al had suggested it, his Slytherin friend ever-resourceful in helping Scorpius deal with his infatuation with a married man. Of course, Al would have been less helpful if he'd known it was his Uncle Charlie that Scorpius was drooling over.
Studying the thick Polyjuice potion, Scorpius shook his head and pushed it back in his pocket, cleaning himself up and waiting for the footsteps to pass before slipping out of the cupboard. Today was their wedding day, a day for celebration and a day Scorpius would have to grin and bear, no matter how hard Charlie in dress-robes got him.
Tomorrow, however, was fair game.
