Unfortunately for Al, somewhere more comfortable had meant the sofa, and he had gone to bed alone. Thoroughly kissed, and quite well groped, but ultimately alone. He'd had to wank just to be able to get to sleep and not impale his mattress, . and tThe way things were going this morning, as he stood in the shower and thought about Scorpius' mouth, he'd be needing a little more alone time.

Catching sight of the clock on the wall opposite the shower, Al growled and turned down the temperature. He only had twenty minutes left until he had to be at practice, and he wanted to spend at least fifteen of those kissing.

Foregoing the towel in favour of a drying charm, Al hopped into his Quidditch gear and made the bed with a flick of his wand. He loved household charms.

"You're up late."

"Long night with my secret lover," Al quipped.

Scorpius grinned, tossing Al's pads at him across the living room. "Yeah, yeah. You and your hand are serious, then?"

Al felt himself colour up. It was only a jibe, but Scorpius had come unerringly close to the truth. Of course, Scorpius saw him blushing, and Al watched as Scorpius' eyes widened in recognition. But instead of making a comment - this was a chance that ALl wouldn't pass up, after all - Scorpius just flushed a little and cleared his throat.

"Come on, we'll be late."

"I don't get a good morning kiss?"

"Later, if you're good."

Al grinned, and followed Scorpius to the Floo. He could live with later.

Practice was long and hard, as always, and Al was ready for the showers when his feet touched the ground. Slinging his broom over his arm, he glanced around the grounds and spotted the group of die-hard fans. As the start of the season got closer - less than a week away - the number of fans showing up at the gates into the grounds to watch the team practice increased dramatically. Most wore team robes, and some carried banners professing their like or dislike of a player. Al had been on a high for weeks the first time he had seen his name on one of the banners, and now he counted six in support of him. Scorpius only had five, and Al made a mental note to tease him about that later.

"Al! Al!"

Lifting his head as he heard his name called, Al saw a witch waving at him. She looked a few years older than him, and was wearing a set of team robes with his name and number emblazoned on the chest. Al raised his hand in recognition, smiling at her.

"Al! Marry me!"

This time, she accompanied her yell with a flourish of her hands, and Al fell still as he looked at her open robes.

The whoops and cheers from his teammates snapped Al's attention away from the biggest pair of breasts he'd ever seen, and he felt his cheeks flushing instantly.

"You've got a fan there, mate!"

"Cor, look at the tits on her!"

"If you don't want her, Potter, I'll have her."

Al ignored the teases from his teammates, ducking his head and practically running into the changing rooms. Putting his broom safely on the rack, Al turned around as the rest of the team came into the locker room, knowing he would get ribbed mercilessly. Everyone was smiling, except Scorpius, who looked like he'd just been slapped. It took Al a moment to work out why Scorpius would be so annoyed, but when he figured it out he tried to convey his embarrassment to Scorpius with his eyes.

Either his embarrassment eyes were uncomfortably close to his come-hither eyes, or Scorpius was making a point. Because, with a predatory look in his eyes and in full view of the coach and their team mates, Scorpius strode across the changing room and planted a firm kiss on Al's lips. There was no emotion - Al had quite clearly just been claimed, and the silence in the locker room was deafening. The only way Scorpius could have made it any clearer would have been to whip out a hot iron and brand Al's forehead with his initials. Al suspected he was lucky Scorpius hadn't thought of that idea before he thought of a public kiss.

"Well," Mack began, putting his broom on the rack. "I guess this means I'm welcome to your fan out there?"

Words were a little beyond Al at the moment, so he just nodded, letting Scorpius lead him over to their lockers. They showered and changed in silence, neither one of them responding to the little teases from their teammates. Al got the feeling Scorpius hadn't meant to out them both quite so dramatically, and he hung back until they were the only two left in the locker room.

"Have fun, boys, and keep it off my towel," Mack quipped as he closed the door behind him.

Popping his head through the top of his jumper, Al cleared his throat. "So... uhm... we're public, then?"

"Yes, I suppose we are." Scorpius sounded as dazed as Al felt.

Much as this was a sudden change of pace, Al didn't dislike it. Clearing his throat, Al stuffed his hands into his pockets. "In that case, do you want to do something this afternoon?"

"Like what?"

"Like a date." The word hung in the air between them for a few seconds Al started to wonder if he'd misjudged the situation.

"Sounds brilliant - where do you suggest?"

Suddenly, Al had to be spontaneous. His mind worked a mile a minute, but kept getting stuck on the bloody museum. That was not a suitable venue - Scorpius would think he was a boring little kid.

As if by magic - and Al wondered if perhaps it was magic - an idea for a date sprung to mind.

"Come on, we'll go home and get some lunch, and then I'll take you out."

~~~~~♥~~~~~
Lunch was a rushed affair, and also a little stilted. Al wasn't too brilliant at the whole dating thing - his Dad had split his sides laughing when Al explained about making Lucy Knowles cry in Madam Pussyfoot's, though he'd never explained why that was so funny - and dating a boy was a whole new Quidditch game. Still, at least the pressure to hold hands and listen to Scorpius drone on about his day would be lessened.
Scorpius hadn't been very happy about Side-Along Apparating, complaining about being treated like a doll, but Al had insisted - he wanted this to be a surprise. The dirty jitty he Apparated them into was most definitely a surprise, but before Scorpius could complain, Al dragged him out of the alley and down the road, turning left and letting Scorpius see the full glory of their date destination.
"A zoo? I thought these had been outlawed?"
"That was just magical versions." The magical versions had featured, among the exotic creatures, werewolves and vampires chained up by magic and paraded around like freaks. Al knew that his grandfather had campaigned against them when he was a teenager, in allegiance to his friend Remus. Dumbledore's portrait had told him so in one of his many visits to Headmistress McGonagall's office. "This is a Muggle zoo, and a nice one at that. I promise you'll like it."
Scorpius looked dubious, but he didn't voice any objections, so Al led them through the large archway, smiling again at the quote on the sign - "All of the animals except for man know that the principle business of life is to enjoy it." Samuel Butler. Heading to one of the ticket booths to get them both tickets, Al realised it was lucky he'd remembered to pick up all the Muggle money he currently had - the cost of going to the zoo had increased dramatically since he was a child.
The big cat enclosure was first, and the largest jaguar Al had ever seen was sprawled out on a rock, basking in the sun.
"What is that?"
"The Jaguar, Panthera Onça, is a big cat, a feline in the Panthera genus. It is the only Panthera species found in the Americas. The jaguar is the third-largest feline after the tiger and the lion, and the largest and most powerful feline in the Western Hemisphere." Al read off the sign, looking up to see Scorpius gaping at the animal.
"Cat? You could put a saddle on that and ride it, never mind stroke it and let it sleep on your lap!"
"I don't think they're meant as house-pets, Scorp," Al chuckled, dragging Scorpius on to the next animal.
Once he found his feet, Scorpius got into the zoo in a way Al could remember going through himself as a child; excitement and the desire to see everything right now. He was tugged from pillar to post, the hours sliding away and neither one of them really noticing how the sunlight was fading away.
When Al realised that they were two of a very few people left, he pulled Scorpius up short and gave him a quick kiss. "Next time, I'm going to have to put a leash on you just to stop you running off!"
"I can't control myself," Scorpius trilled dramatically, dragging Scorpius back in the direction of the snake house, which was clearly proving his favourite. Stopping short, Scorpius' smile slipped slightly. "Wait, next time? We aren't leaving, are we?"
"I think it's nearly closing time, sadly. Just enough time to visit the gift shop!"
That promise seemed to cheer Scorpius up, and they spent their last fifteen minutes in the sprawling shop, picking up stuffed toys and model animals as they tried to decide on what to purchase. Scorpius settled, none too surprisingly, on a long stuffed toy snake, and Al picked up a few boxes of animal crackers. Paying quickly, it was only when they were heading back out under the arch that Scorpius spoke again. "You even bought me a present on our date. I didn't know you were such a romantic."
Al laughed, turning back into the jitty they'd Apparated into. "Chivalry is my middle name."
"It's better than Severus, that's for sure."
"Oi!" Pulling Scorpius close, closer than was necessary for Side-Along ApparationApparition, Al's lips brushed over Scorpius' ear as he whispered, "You'll pay for that."
Scorpius twisted his head, winding his arms around Al's torso as Al got ready to Apparate them home. "Make me."
Shivering, Al closed his eyes and swallowed hard, trying to focus on their apartment. He couldn't; his mind kept going back to the way Scorpius felt against him, pressed up tight and nuzzling his ear softly. Clearly, Scorpius was a skilled Occlumens Legilimens - how else could he have known just what a turn on this was for Al? "It's hard to Apparate when you're breathing in my ear."
"We could stay here."
Al moaned - he was well and truly done for now. Just the thought of Scorpius pressed up against the wall, or pressing him up against it, turned Al's legs to jelly.
Scorpius clearly saw Al's predicament, leaning back and laughing softly. "Merlin, you're easy to please. Hold on tight, and I'll get us home."
Al really hadn't needed the command to hold on tight - he was already clinging onto Scorpius for dear life. With a wink and a smile that held more than a little promise, Scorpius Apparated them home.
