Well, I'm feeling pretty stressed right now. On Wednesday my application for Advanced Creative Writing is due and I've got (you guessed it!) nothing prepared. I don't even know what classes I want to take. I have to take three more classes in order to fulfill my minor, which means I have to double up during one semester (I don't even know if ( Read more... )

You're not supposed to double-up, but you can do it if you take an Advanced Class and an intermediate class. At least, that's what I've been told.

I hear you about overloading classes, though. This semester I'm taking 20 credits, I'm taking a summer course, and 20 more credits next semester, all in an effort to clear my requirements now and start the B.A./M.A. in the spring. Oy.

DAMN! That's a helluva lot of stuff...good luck man, I know you can get it all done...even though 20 credits is defintely INTENSE. I had no idea I couldn't take two advanced classes for CW...this kind of screws up my plans. Hmmm. Thanks for the heads up though!

I'm not sure that you can't take two advanced. The only problem I see is that Kristen Elias (the lady at the front desk of the English department) is the person who e-mails out all the names and organizes the class rosters after the professors accept you. So if she sees your name twice in Advanced, I dunno if she's happy.

yeah, my CW teacher that I have now asked for me today and you are totally right...you can't do it. So now my plan is totally screwed. I think I might just apply for one advanced this semester and finish ALL of my english requirements and then beg them to let me take two next semester, showing them I can do it because I am taking an otherwise very light course load. Which class are you applying for next semester? See, now I don't even know what I'm doing...non fiction probably?
