I agree with you that there are probably many things which we cannot experience with our senses that are there nonetheless (and the metaphor of lgiht waves is a good one). I read the quote differently, though. Without any context it seems that he is reminding us that it is an assumption that our senses are responding to real things to begin with. I can be sure that my mind is recieving signals which it interprets as sight, sound, touch, etc, but it may not necessarily follow that there is an external reality which is the source of these signals, eh?

Keep up the heavy thinking, bor. I know I will.

ahhh, very interesting. its a good quote cuz it spurred both of these thoughts. i always wonder what colors look like to other people. like we both agree grass is green, but what does your green look like? pot, thats what. ...wait mine too. BRILLIANT! you should see what the bleep, i think youd get a hoot out of it

youve explained this to me before in the past, and i'll agree and believe in it also because it sounds tight. i also think about that color thing sometimes too. its never ending! thanks for speaking interesting thinking things, because i never can. i like to believe in ghosts, too.
