Lectures, seminars, and the lack of practice rooms...

Day one of school, it's seven after eleven, and I'm back in my room after an investigation of the need for personal tutors (bawk?) and a fruitless search for both practice rooms and used books (ah, how I long for the days when I could just wander into Storer and hole up in an empty room until my voice started to work again...). The summer has been ( Read more... )

Actually, I didn't work on tech for that one, as it was freshman year. I did go, though and enjoyed it thoroughly.

The two plays you're seeing, Twelth Night and Sweeny Todd, I have seen, or will see. Sweeny Todd is weird. Just, kinda strange. If you can get out of it, maybe I will wisk you away to see phantom of the opera. If you go a couple hours before the show starts you can sometimes get left over tickets for really cheap. They're also playing les miserables here. I haven't seen the Twelth Night production yet, and I may not because tickets are for students in the Shakespeare course. They might have an extra one for me, in fact, I should go check on that now. But it's basically the play set in Inida, which sounds really interesting. I'm not expecting any musical number a la Bollywood, but you never know. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Rather wishing I'd gotten up the courage and the time to take part in PCDS musicals now, but oh well...

Yeah, Sweeney Todd sounded extremely weird, but since both of these are for class and I've had ever so much class lately, I think skipping out won't really be an option. 'sides, it's come to the point where I won't skip out on anything theaterish, mostly because it's all so here!

Whisking away, however, is still in order by any call-if we're only seeing two shows for class and you're in the know for cheap ticket options, there's still a matinee and evening open.... I wouldn't pass up anyone's suggestion of seeing Phantom or Les Mis, but since you mentioned it, well, I think there's no other choice..are you trying to fuel my mania?

And speaking of manias, what's the report on Scarlet Pimpernel?

Hm, haven't gotten the tickets yet for Scarlet Pimpernel. I figured calling a month in advance would do. Which evening are you free? Maybe you should come over for dinner at my house. I could cook you something. I've learned how to cook. Sort of. I make mean potatoes and pasta. And I can heat up chicken. Or we could go get cheap (but good) Indian food around the corner. I'm making no promises about Phantom, not sure your mania should be fueled. I think I'd rather go with you to see reduced Shakespeare, which is supposed to be side-splittingly funny. However, I'm opening either way. I'll get you a ticket when I do the Scarlet Pimpernel thing. Did you see in my email that I found the out of print book? Yay for out of the way used book stores in Stratford-upon-Avon. Have you read the original yet?
