[ He's out--five minutes, dammit, five minutes--and grabbing a snack and some lemonade at a vending machine when Strike comes to fetch him. He takes one look at her and they're off, not running (it's still a hospital) but walking very, very quickly to their destination.

He stands in the doorway, a bit breathless, eyes wide, mixed nuts and lemonade in one limp hand. After a long silence, it occurs to him to talk. ]

You hungry?

[ ...oh hey look, convenient nuts. He slowly pads towards the bed, setting them down on the bedside table. ]

[When Strike and Leon appear in the doorway, Sen all but leaps off of Lightning and onto Sen, yipping happily. His Trainer's awake! His Trainer's awake!

While that's going on, Lightning is just...looking ridiculously relieved before she shakes her head, sitting up slowly.]

No. I'm fine. [Not. But she is very glad to see him again for some reason she can't quite figure out.]

You've been asleep for a week and you're 'fine'?

[ He shakes his head. He doesn't believe it for a second. He settles in one of the chairs set up next to the bed, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. He takes in the sight of her; she's as fine as Rise said she would be, of course, but the flood of relief that swells inside of him...it's hard to ignore, and he's not entirely sure how to deal with it right then. ]

Did you go home?

[ Strike whuffs in surprise as she gets barreled into, before her expression softens and she wraps her arms around Sen's middle. Yes, you big idiot, your trainer's awake. ]

[She just gives Leon a look; yes, she is fine. ..ish. Well, she's not hungry, anyway. She just watches Sen and Strike for a bit, bringing her knees up and looping her arms around them. ]

No. And I don't think I'll be able to if we find a way out of this place. [She scrubs her face, shaking her head as Sen just clings to Strike like some overgrown vine masquerading as a puppy. He's just so happy his trainer's awake now!]

[It takes Lightning a few minutes to get the gear, but there she is. Awake and with an equally excited overgrown puppy clinging to her arm.]
