And to do that, she needs a way to get past the Sudowoodo without having to rely on a water type that she doesn't have. [Judging by the look Lightning has on her face, Sazh decides it would probably be a good idea to budge in on her conversation with Whitney. So, he walks up to Lightning and gives her a small, yet cautious, smile.]

[It is indeed a good idea, because Lightning is really close to just punching Whitney and being done with it. But since Sazh is coming up, she turns her attention to him and leaves her arms crossed as she nods.

Whitney, on the other hand, takes one look at Sazh and sniffles, pouting some more. Fine, fine, she'll give the badge over, along with what looks to be some kind of watering can and a disc before she stomps off, and Lightning shakes her head.]

Finally. Thought she'd never finish.

[She quickly shuts up as Lightning turns an absolute death glare on her. Rag on Lightning all you want, but never talk bad about Hope around her. Ever. It'll be the last mistake you ever make.

...Whitney still refuses to hand over the badge, though. She's being...remarkablely stubborn today.

[Whitney is getting a little red in the face, looking only seconds away from having a full blown temper tantrum, but...fair is fair, and according to League rules, Lightning did win the badge. So it's getting slapped into her hand now, along with the TM and Squirtbottle, before Whitney stomps off, prompting Lightning to roll her eyes. Honestly...

But then she turns, looking up at Hope and smiling again. It's a grateful little thing; without Hope speaking up, she probably would have punched Whitney in a few seconds.]
