[And this is Snow planting his fist directly into Sudowoodo's face. Miraculously, the maneuver doesn't shatter any bones, instead causing the tree to genuinely stagger back for a second. The sudowoodo doesn't approve, swinging a branch to clock Snow upside the head, then ramming him in the gut, but Snow's a sentinel goddammit and if there's anything he's good for it's absorbing blows.
He's turning now to head back toward Lightning at a hasty jog, lobbing a poke-ball over his shoulder so Machamp can come out and handle the big stupid tree.
Snow's meanwhile coming to crouch beside Lightning, one hand coming to her shoulder.]
That hit was pretty nasty.
...
Sorry, sis, I know you're gonna hate this...
[A glance at the dueling pokemon, then he's reaching his other hand out to lift Lightning up out of the mud. He's gonna get them the hell out of here before that tree's friends show up, or they all just drown in all this rain, whichever comes first.]
[Lightning is honestly too busy trying to teach herself how to breath again to care that Snow is lifting her from the mud. But she gets a crash course in that when she tries to get up herself, running on instinct and forgetting for a moment that, hey, nasty blows cause nasty pain.
Nasty pain that causes her to wince, one arm curling around her middle as Snow lifts her while the other...doesn't seem to have its mind made up about whether it wants to use Snow as a springboard to get her up on her own or to just cling to him and let him pull her up while she gets a handle on the pain. In the end, it's a mix of the two and she opens her eyes a sliver to glare at the Sudowoodo, noting that Machamp is fighting it off.]
.....Remind me to...do something about that thing later. [Much later. She's not exactly in fighting shape right now and it damn well shows when she doesn't push Snow away to stand on her own.]
pardon incoherency, estoy muy cansadosavethefarronMay 24 2011, 09:14:32 UTC
For sure. That one and all of the others. All of them.
[He sounds half teasing but half dead-serious. It's a weird combination, but you can tell he has it in for those trees just as much as Lightning does. Which she should probably take as him having her back, since he's hating on the Sudowoodo in her honor.
Either way, now he's starting to head toward Goldenrod at a brisk walk.]
Machamp, move out! [This is called over his shoulder. Machamp has the tree relatively restrained (four arms versus two primary branches, Sudowoodo was a little outnumbered), but he instantly is letting go, shoving the tree away, and retreating backward to follow Snow and Lightning. (Note the backward: He isn't about to take his eyes off the Sudowoodo until they're a safe distance away.)]
bb, what incoherancy? I see none.soggypastryMay 24 2011, 09:26:38 UTC
We'll need an army to...get them all, Snow.
[Does she take it as Snow having her back? In a way, yes. But she's really too busy think of it that way, since she has to put all her focus on walking to keep up with Snow to get away before the tree decides it wants a rematch with Machamp. One foot in front of the other, Farron. One foot in front of the other.
You know, if she doesn't stumble while she recovers her balance and gets her feet back under her. That had not been fun at all. Good thing Snow had been here, really. She doesn't want to think about what might have happened if she'd been alone.]
[ He's been quite litterally thinking about packing his stuff and just...going for the last fifteen minutes. But he's already made arrangements to get shipped off to Olivine, and isn't Light supposed to be with her brother-in-law why is she getting attacked by pokemon. ]
If you say so...are you sure?
[ What, he hasn't been flailing for fifteen minutes, what gives you that impression? The obvious relief? Nah... ]
[Light is with her brother-in-law and the stupid tree caught them both off guard and she's...leaning against another tree to stay on her feet. This one's not going to punch her. ...hopefully.]
You've given me worse problems. It's nothing to worry about.
[Because she can kind of tell he's relieved. Was he that worried?]
[The reply is delayed by about fifteen minutes, but when it does come on, Lightning seems fine. Just slightly muddy. And...kind of leaning against a tree.]
[Hopefully Shinjiro has other things to do, because the reply is delayed by about fifteen minutes while they get away from the thing. And staring at a blank screen for fifteen minutes isn't---oh, there's Lightning. Muddy but standing.]
It's called a Sudowoodo. It normally blocks the path from Violet to Goldenrod, but I thought the rain had made it leave. [Scoff. So much for that idea.]
[Well, she's had time to catch her breath. Though there will be a massive bruise come later.]
Just those. Regular trees don't even twitch. [Note the said regular tree she's leaning on. Still as it should be, only the leaves rustling in the breeze and rain.
And that's a headshake.] Don't count on getting used to it quick.

I'm fine, Leon. [And she...kind of is. Just muddy. And rather sore. And very glad that Serah's gear was still broken, last she knew.]

Water makes these trees go away? [What is logic in Johto. Shinji is pretty convinced something in his brain just irreversably broke. He facepalms.]
Yeah this place is gonna take some getting used to...
