5th Flight [Video]

It has been a long last few nights for all of us, and although I tried to avoid much of the trouble, it still found its way to the doorstep I do not have. I am glad to see that most of us have endured through this affair, and would like to take this time to bring some good news to some people in this dark hour ( Read more... )

[ Terry's looking mighty relieved. ]

I'm on my way. Thanks.

I'll be waiting for you then.

[As Haer'Dalis turned off the video feed, and sat in the room next to the fully repaired black batsuit, he threw his short sword spinning into the air, time and again, catching it by it's handle. A rather dull exorcise, but one that kept his rhythm in check.]

I hope he didn't get himself mortally wounded while I was doing the finishing touches.

[ No mortal wounds, no, but Terry was fairly bruised up and aching. But he wouldn't let that deter him. Having the suit in his possession was going to be very helpful, as well as being able to help people in need.

When he arrives at the hospital, he begins to retrace his steps that led him from the "portal room", as he'd thought of it. By the time he arrives, he's panting somewhat. ]

Hey.

Ah, so you've arrived!

[He looks panting Terry up and down with an arched eyebrow.]

And from the looks of it, you were in quite a hurry to get here too. Well then, let's not waste any time then, here at last is your Batsuit.

[Haer'Dalis motions his hands over towards the hospital bed that it was draped on, as if he were some sort of showman revealing someone's brand new car.]

The Jet boots were especially tricky, as was making it so you could actually see through the mask again, but with a little ingenuity, I have it working again. I used a bit of magic on your optical mechanisms, so your suit's eyes should have fully functional infrared vision, and the ability to detect illusions and holograms.

Magic isn't real. It's just a trick or a hoax.

You're a little skeptical for someone your age, aren't you?

I don't have to be any older to know when something is impossible.

Oh? Now we're going into impossibilities are we? I was hoping to save the big topics for a bit later. There is very little in this multiverse that is impossible. I of course as a practitioner of arcane magic, know quite a bit of things that could be thought to be impossible, but are indeed a possibility. However, seeing is believing so they say. I wonder if you perhaps would be interested in conducting a few experiments with my tricks as you call them.

(Convincing someone who doesn't believe in magic, after they've been turned into a little kid? Not something that's going to be easy Haer'Dalis xD )

Huh... well, that's just down the street.

I don't mind helping out with the fighting.

Excellent. Then shall I put you down for being part of the muscle group?

I shall need your name, and we of course can work out some form of payment, or exchange of services.

That's fine. The name's Aragaki Shinjiro.

Don't worry about payment. Unless you're any good at fixing roofs. I'm about to fix the bar up and I wouldn't mind a hand with that.

Done, and done! Haha! It's a rather more simple task, but I will gladly assist you in return, as I would like a place to be able to get a drink anyways. I really do wish we had some grapes or perhaps some cranberries though. I haven't had any decent wine in months. Do you have the supplies you need to accomplish this task, like say boards and nails? I can get a hammer if we need one though... Or at least something close to it.

There's a playhouse in Discedo? I didn't know that!

Indeed there is! Albeit a rather old, and run-down one. I have been scouting it's perimeter for a while now, and contemplating simply trying to go in there alone, but from my experience, that would be unwise. Always best to have at least one or two partners, in case you are caught by surprise.

Personally, as a bard, the idea of opening my own playhouse again, sends an electric chill of excitement through me.

That makes sense. It's always safer with a friend.

The only plays I've seen are the ones we did in class, but it sounds like fun. Would you like some help chasing the monsters away?

Ahh, I live for the theater my friend. Spinning elaborate tales to enchant and inspire the masses, nothing is quite as much fun to me.

Yes actually, if you don't mind. I have two teams of fighters though, one to take on the scouting mission, and one to beat the monsters once we know what we are dealing with. Both have their own dangers, the first group of course not knowing what we are dealing with has to be incredibly fast, and aware. The second group of course having to be able to deal with whatever it is we find.

It sound like you're keeping yourself rather busy.

Well, I've at least been trying to. Although it's been increasingly difficult to figure out what's been going on inside that Play-house. I know something is in there, but from what I have scryed of the the situation, they are monster unlike anything I've almost ever seen.

Oh? I wouldn't mind hearing more about the monsters if you don't mind.

There are a few monsters that look a bit like off colored giant spiders, something that looks like a giant ball of fur, and some manner of poltergeist that I can't seem to get a good fix on.
