Synethesia: orange and black.

I've had a longtime aversion to the color orange. Pink, too: the more warmer and more salmon-y, the less pleasant, but only orange would make me scrunch up my nose and turn away. It is largely because, in my personal synesthetic spectrum, orange is the color of pain ( Read more... )

Interestingly enough, I'm not synethesic but when I'm in pain and I close my eyes I see orange, perhaps it's how our nerves see it?

I'm glad you've found a nicer, if bittersweet connection to it xo

in my headcanon, the 'Orange Narrative' is associated with the sort of meme assemblages that we've imported historically which just don't work and people keep trying to pretend the world works that way (think orange paint with lots of muck on it that's been ramshackle for a while, as opposed to a citrus orange, which is a different thing entirely)
