This is mostly for
rhia474 and is a copy and paste of my fangirl squeeing and link posting from G+. Those that follow me on G+ will have seen it all, already.
First, something non-Mass Effect, but I bet you WILL enjoy it, if you haven't seen it yet: Gideon Emery did an informal Q&A on Facebook. You can find the first part here:
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150568315896545 It really brightened my morning, despite the headache.
Also, you really need to check out

Now, on to the Mass Effect blathering.

I played the ME3 demo again last night (don't want to glut myself) and started to notice things beyond the action. Like, her hair is amazing. I mean, it's still obviously ribbons of texture, but they shine rather like glossy hair would shine. And the texture has multiple colors, doing a rather good job of approximating real hair. What? You think I am concentrating on the wrong things?
I have heard a great deal of good chatter about the ME3 multiplayer demo. But, because I am pretty sure I suck, the only people that wouldn't curse to have my dead weight on their team are people that suck more than me. This is why I never get excited about MP and usually don't want it for fear it will detract from what I really enjoy.
The above mind set is a little odd, considering I didn't do too badly at raiding in WoW and no one is ever likely to say that raiding as a Shadow Priest is easy. At least, not with a straight face

Last night... actually, yesterday afternoon (since I am asleep by 'evening') I played the ME3 demo as a male Adept. This is what I learned:
Male Shep isn't all that bad. :p I am pretty sure I will have at least one play through as a male Shep.
Adept is not the class for me.
Shotguns are AWESOME. All the punching power of a well placed sniper shot, just at closer range. How did I not know this before?
Now, this may be poor memory on my part, but I think I noticed some small animation differences between the two Shepards. This may require some investigation.
The long version of the trailer that debuted on The Walking Dead.

You will have to watch to end to understand my squee. Which was almost immediately followed by a 'damn' when I realized I am getting the digital version, and therefore, no box.

So, I am currently obsessing about Mass Effect. Perhaps it's noticeable? And a lot of that obsession has to do with the female version of the main character - I call it a girl-crush, but I think it's more like hero worship. Regardless, it's so strong it's kind of painful.(1) I attribute most of this to the writing and the voice acting and since I can't attribute the writing directly, but can attribute the VA work, well Jennifer Hale ends up with quite a bit of my admiration.
This was a long intro for the link, which is Raphael Sbarge's Audioblog (he is many things, but specific to this case he's the voice of Kaidan Alenko in the Mass Effect series) which contains an interview with Jennifer Hale.
After listening to it I went from "I love her as the voice of FemShep." to "My god, she seems like an awesome person, too!". I think all hope is lost.
Seriously, people, I hate wishing my life away, but March 6th is taking it's sweet time getting here.
(1) As a digression, I can't remember any other player character that's gripped me anywhere near as strongly. They are usually cyphers, but even Lady Hawke from DA2 doesn't have the same pull as FemShep and she is fully voiced and animated-in-cut-scenes, too. There have been some NPCs with a similar grip on my imagination, but never before a PC. I... I really can't explain it.
