Resist the wheat that is shredded, for the path to the dark side it is

I have remarkably bad sense of direction, and a remarkable confidence in my sense of direction nonetheless. I think that part of my brain still refuses to accept that "north" is not always the same as "forward." The other day, though, I somehow woke up with my internal compass rose not only off but backwards. While I wouldn't say I depend on it ( Read more... )

I was just talking about my utterly dysfunctional sense of direction earlier today while standing on a hiking path insisting we had started in the exact opposite direction of where we actually had started. And we had just finished walking in a large loop, so you'd think that would make things easier. It is a good thing I don't go hiking by myself, because I think I would make a lot of left turns before realizing I wasn't getting anywhere. Or perhaps I'd end up in Canada.

I think sometimes I really am living in a Mobius strip. But if other people aren't, and I am, and we co-exist in the same room - but of course not the same exact spac - what does that mean? Is it possible?

Well, if you and the other people really can go to all the same places, then you live in the same universe. It's possible, however, that you live on a Mobius strip with a wall across it, and you're the only person who has the power to go through the wall. In that case, everyone else would be oblivious to the fact that they lived on a mobius strip, since the wall would prevent them from going all the way around it. You would be the only one who knew the truth, and consequently the only one who was confused about direction. I discussed this with Eric, and we drew a diagram to explain the situation.
