It's weird - cuz I know obviously that you didn't write this yourself, and at the time I saw the movie, this part seemed a little silly and contrived.

But now, I feel like I have a little glimpse into Tolkien and his life, because right at this moment it means so much to me. Hm.

As someone who has read Tolkein, I have to admire his Hobbits. There was all kinds of darkness in that world and those little guys had nothing to do with it. They just popped up in the middle of a war between the forces of darkness and the men and elves that had courted or fought evil for centuries. Then these Hobbits come along and they can't really help that these things have happened. It'll effect them in the end, though, even though they've lived such humble lives. Tolkein chooses them, the Hobbits, to deliver this salvation. No one else has the stoutness, the moral character, the downright faith to take the ring the whole way. Little people big hearts. Gotta love those Hobbits and Sam was my favorite of all. ^^
