People are fascinating.

I think, at least momentarily, I have figured out the meaning of life. Not literally mind you; that would be ridiculous. Just for the time being. Anyway . . . it's people. People are fascinating. And not just because of the things we can do or learn or accomplish. Just being is fascinating. When you think for one moment about a certain ( Read more... )

Yeah... you're right, you know. Don't be depressed. A Christian could argue that the meaning of this life (for a Christian) was given to us plainly in the "great commission." And that still boils down to people. That was the meaning of Christ's life on earth, and since His life was our example, it goes without saying. Movie stars are no more fascinating than every other human being? Wow. It doesn't seem that long ago that you were the girl who used to be all starstruck over the likes of Josh Groban. Your boyfriend also springs to mind. Also this guy and that one...
;)

Quite a change.

I don't know that I would say quite a change. I mean, I am certainly amused to meet this person or that person, and I certainly respect people's abilities and talents . . . but those things still don't make them any better or worse than the rest of us. We all have beautiful and interesting things about each of us. Sometimes those things are known to a lot of people, and sometimes they aren't known at all, but they are still there. We are all in the same boat as it were, and I think it's ridiculous when certain people fail to realize that.

see I can understand with the stoner or one who drinks all the time. sometimes life is hell and very much you want to run away and not exist. so there I understand, and then there are times that yes indeed you want to explore and live and enjoy life and at those times it is fascinating. it really depends what space you are in is how you experience and deal

I'm certainly not saying it's wrong to indulge in those things. To each their own, y'know. What I'm saying is, when it's so much a way of life that you just do it without thinking about it, and that is what your life revolves around. I think that is kind of sad. I certainly agree with exploring and I completely understsand wanting to run away from life from time to time.
