Four Things And No Lizard... Or What I Thought of The Eleventh Hour

1. Matt Smith - very, very good indeed.

2. Amy Pond is growing on me.

3. New Who - always a good thing.

4. What the HELL have they done to the theme music?

So yes, I watched it, not expecting really to enjoy it.  Not because I was one of the 'OMAIGOD TENNANT or NOTHING' fan girls.  But because I really couldn't get excited about it.  I was a bit meh to be honest.  I started to get a bit excited when the trailers started to come out but remained a bit 'Meh, if I don't get my hopes up I wont be disappointed'.

Matt Smith proved to be VERY Doctor-ish.  Far more than David Tennant did on his first episode.  It took me a long time to love the Tenth Doctor but when I did, it was hard to imagine anyone else in the role.  I can see me falling in love with the Eleventh Doctor pretty quickly, not in the way that I fell in love with the Ninth (I've carried a torch for Eccleston for a very LONG time, right back to when he was Jude), but in a 'yeah, he's IS the Doctor' way.

Amy Pond - Little Amelia was lovely and oh poor thing waiting all night for the Doctor.  Yeah I can imagine a kid doing that.  My daughter would do that.  She adores the Doctor if she thought he was coming she would wait all night.  GrownUP!Amy is growing on me, I think she'll be a good companion.

New Who - well we're all starved of it aren't we?  It was good to see the start of a new series.

New theme music.  Oi, Moffat NO!  Sorry, I do NOT like it.  You can hardly tell that it is the Doctor Who theme music now.  I expected it to be jazzed up, they always mess around with it so I expected it but really?  It doesn't even sound like Doctor Who.

Oooh yes, one extra!  The TARDIS: *LOVES*

doctor who, the eleventh hour
