Drinking the iPod Kool-aid

May 11, 2005 14:00

I'm sorry to all my friends whose journals I usually read; I haven't been able to check LJ as often as I'd like in the last few weeks. Work's been busy, and I have to get ready to leave for Israel at the end of the month ( Read more... )

you should have used:

"death is but a door, time is but a window, i'll be back."

-Vigo from Ghostbusters II!!!

That's wicked!!
I will get that on the next iPod I buy...you know...when this one is obsolete in a week or so.
I was also thinking "The answer is 42." from Hitchhiker's Guide. But that would be too sci-fi nerd.

Why would they deny the last two? Or even the 4th one? They're not even apple-related. fools. I'm quite sick of people trying to control the behaviour of others. Companies and laws all think they can do it. Everyone under the sun can think for themselves if they want to, and keeping certain quotes off of ipods ain't gonna change that. Jeez. I'm tired. I don't seem to be able to properly contain my venom.

my ipod engraving is a quote by percy bysshe shelley, "Music, when soft voices die, Vibrates in the memory"

I was also considering the same Nietzsche quote!

didn't you say your cousin gets crazy discounts on electronics??

My cousin does great crazy discounts, but they didn't have the 30GB ipod in stock at his store, and I didn't want to wait any longer. I needed it for my trip to Israel so I can unload the pics on my camera along the way.

the one i've always used since my highschool days is:
"If music is the fruit of love, play on" -Shakespeare
though i believe William meant this sarcastically

I love the freshly added perversion of a Henry Ford quote.

Why not a good old 'Ceterum Censeo France Delenda Est'?

or perhaps Horace's 'Ducle et decorum est, pro patria mori'?

or my personal fave 'Homo sapiens non urinat contra ventum'...

Hazaah for oblique music references...

Paul, no one knows what those mean, short of the common ones.

I actually got the peeing in the wind one!

I don't see how any of these relate to music.

And the first one....is it "in conclusion france must be destroyed"?
