I'm pretty disgusted when I see people react to the news of some atrocity somewhere with an attitude of "Why should we care? That group has done ___ terrible thing in the past." With the situation in Iran right now, I'm seeing comments scattered across the internet saying no one should care because "the Muslims fight with everyone they come in

You know how I feel about death in general. I take it really personal when I see things like this. It doesn't matter what religion you are or where you are on the ladder of society, nobody deserves to die that way.

By 'doesn't affect them' I think politically it means "we have nothing to gain from you, so fend for your fucking selves kthxbye".

I know, and I hate that attitude about this country. We so rarely help people for the sake of helping them, but because we think they'll owe us one in the future.
