Wow, two posts in two days!
So, after my house was raided in Sept *rolls eyes*, Baby Kitty started hiding in the basement for several hours a day. There were a few times I looked for her and I was concerned because I've had older kitties who tried to hide down there when they weren't feeling well and they died a few days later. She's not food motivated, so shaking treats doesn't lure her out. I tried her favorite toy and calling her, but neither worked. And yes, her hearing is absolutely fine. She always came back upstairs and seemed happy and fine, she ate like normal. But then she'd disappear again.
I still have no clue where her super-secret hidey-hole was. I tried following her downstairs once, but she was on to me, and just sat on the carpet for a very long time. She eventually went into a box, but I went upstairs and came back down later, and she wasn't there, so that was a fake out. Smart kitty! RPD asked when she started hiding, and I think it was shortly after the house was raided. I know she had nightmares after that. And Ozzie was very freaked out for a long time afterward. I actually found him hiding downstairs once, in the place I thought I'd find Baby Kitty. He fuzzed up and growled at me, until I talked him down from the ledge, so to speak. I had nightmares, too. And became very jumpy, just seeing anyone walking or driving down the street sometimes I'd double-check to make sure it wasn't the US Marshals coming back. It was all a big mistake, BTW. They were looking for a shooter who was related to someone with similar names to myself and my father who had been sighted headed this way. Anyway, Baby Kitty has been spending more and more time upstairs rather than hiding. Ozzie seems back to normal and I haven't had the nightmares lately, so I think we may be moving on... finally!
About the same time, my heel started hurting. The skin temperature is normal, the color is normal, and there aren't any lumps or bumps or anything. Some days it's more painful than others. I pretty much had stopped jogging when my back and hip were hurting. Then I pretty much stopped walking with the heel pain. I think it started either late Sept or early Oct. I remember thinking about going to see my doctor in late October, but I pushed it off. Using ice packs seems to help, and I have Dr Scholls heel inserts in two pairs of shoes and one pair of slippers. That seems to help a bit. But it's still hurting after two months. I called my doctor's office to ask for a referral to someone who handles feet, but they won't refer me without looking at it. So, I have an appointment on Friday for them to check it out and hopefully refer me for X-rays, or MRI, or whatever they normally do for such things. I'm was hoping it was a pinched nerve or pulled tendon or something, but it seems like that should have healed by now. It's concerning that it's still hurting. The pain is also had different levels on different days, and can change throughout the day. It's weird! I hope they can either offer help or tell me I'll just have to manage the pain for the rest of my life. I kind of hope it's not going to require surgery, although that may be better than the constant pain.
