I made it safely down south and am at least partially moved into the new place. Will be assembling the Ikea furniture tomorrow and then I can finally really unpack (and get all my stuff out of the living room, which I'm sure will be a relief to the new roomie). Mostly I was annoyed that their current selection of twin/single beds is tiiiiny and hidden over in the kiddy bed area. If you don't want a day bed there aren't many options. My current room doesn't have space for something much larger if I actually want a desk ( ... )

Yeah, I'd been checking out their bed selection online and was already pretty displeased with the single/twins they had. I had actually been considering getting a futon from them instead. Luckily for me, the aunt whose house we spent the most time at in MA had just bought the exact model I was considering and I got to give it a test run. Surprisingly spacious even when folded, nice, firm mattress, none of that weird dipping in the center that you get with shitty futons when unfolded. I think I'm sold! Well, assuming I can fit it in my room, that is.

Thanks for the tip about the desk though. I'll see if I can find it! I'm getting the feeling that grad school is all about foldaway furniture as a lifestyle, so best to embrace it off the bat. ;)

Yay for a successful move! I am sad you are gone, though. Will be missing part of the three musketeers. :(

I'm gonna miss you guys too. Current plan is to be up in the bay area for Thanksgiving so we can hit up Dicken's on Black Friday. We'll find ways to get our fix in.
