Orientation and Classes

Last week orientation started, which was a nice change of pace as when left to my own devices I turn into a nocturnal, lazy bum. Thursday and Friday consisted of ACS placement exams. We had to take 5 of them and needed to pass three. Those days were long, but there was good bonding with the other chemistry first year students over mutual suffering ( Read more... )

Hey hey orientation! I have to call in for Jury Duty the same day as Orientation, and this is already AFTER I rescheduled it. I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something about grad school. :P Glad yours turned out well, though! Congrats on those placement exams. :)

And good luck getting that thesis stuff together. Hopefully your second reader will come to their senses soon.

Jeeze. Maybe your just getting your bad luck out of the way all at the beginning and the rest will be smooth sailing. Is this city as apposed to state jury duty? Because I've had that happen. Not sure how it works out here in CA.

Hope things start settling down and behaving soon. I think once classes and whatnot start it'll go better. Nothing like feeling isolated and alone on top of bored.

Good luck with your thesis though and yay for no remedial classes. Those are never fun.
