The GPS is natorious for pronouncing things wrong. So far the most hilarious one my GPS has said was "In North Out" for the fast good chain In'NOut. LOL
Ha, my GPS hasn't said anything that blatantly wrong yet, but it seems to have a lot of trouble with Rs in the middle of words. This is a problem since I live just off Wilshire Boulevard, or rather, WillshyUR BoulevAARRRRRRRRRRUD. Maybe my GPS is secretly a pirate.
Mine also does a wonderfully bad job with Hispanic names, which is a treat down here, let me tell you. I apparently live in La Joe-la instead of La Jolla (ho-ya). Awesomesauce.
I must admit though, In'NOut was the best. Sharon and I about died of laughter.
Well, people often get La Jolla wrong even without aid of robotic pronunciation software (my aunt told me she had thought for most of her life that La Jawla and La Hoya were two different places). My favorite Spanish mispronunciation from my GPS is a street called "Gabrielino", which my GPS always pronounces "Gabrielle'inno".
Are you using any unusual voices for your GPS? Those can make the mispronunciations 10x more amusing. xD
