Saying I'm furious is an understatement. I think I reached furious after the first website I found with my story posted without my permission. I went beyond it after the second and third and really hit the roof when I found a site that had my story posted in a whole other language

Your not overreacting at all! It is your story you have a say where it is posted or not posted.

On that note. I often post artwork in addition to my posts. Am I bad for not asking first, or should I just say "not mine?" Please don't hurt me, I honestly didn't think of it but I'm not taking credit for it! Some of the pics or artwork are old. Eeehhhh a different language? yeah, tough one... Hope they get the message.

I don't know much about what other people think regarding this matter. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I'm thinking that everyone would like to know when someone likes their work and when they take it further and pimp it. I think every author/artist loves that feeling, knowing their hard work is being appreciated. But there's a line when it's being transferred from one language to another. I found several cases where my stories were just linked with a brief description. Those I don't mind in the least. But in order to transfer a story from one language to another... that's taking the whole story, re-writing it and re-posting it without the author knowing about it, which is what this person did. (Example: like you taking other people's black and white pictures and coloring it and then posting it again.) Even with the original author's name/link, you're changing their work without their permission. I hope this makes sense. lol. :)

Yes, that does make sense! From now on, if I post something I will make sure to link back to where I found it, credit the author (if posted) and do the "not mine" disclaimer! I am crap with photoshop. I don't do manips of anything that isn't public domain.

sorry I agree here wholeheartedly. I hate when people download stories and pass them around as well....I think I'm going to adopt your actions as well.

You have every right to be upset about this. No one and I mean NO ONE has a right to post your stories without asking first. You worked hard on them, they belong to you and only you have the right to decide if they may be posted elsewhere. So sorry this has happened to you *huggles* *and a good swift kick in the pants for the people who posted my friends stories without permission* *evil eyes*
