microwavemutant bucky barnes
is a pretty cool guy. eh buys sixty dollars worth of ice cream and shoots nazis and doesn't afraid of anything.
Okay, so... Kate is actually very fond of Bucky despite not knowing him inside and out or very long. He grows on her with every conversation but a part of her is still inclined to keep him at arms length because he's the first to note she's evasive with very personal questions. She's not driven by fear or anything, it's just kind of natural for her at this point to have acquaintances/friends but not let them too far in. Also the fact he comes off as perceptive, she isn't ready to test those waters yet with him.
BUT UH, she feels a kinship with him, too. Military background, duties, the sister thing intrigued her more, so in a way she wants to keep him close without coming off as clingy or weird. She sees him a very positive light, no matter what he says. A humble hero, if you will. He's totally a hero in her eyes! She also takes pity on him, what with losing his arm, thinking he was dead and then being thrust into a whole new time era where imaginary baseball teams run around. Then there was the talk they had about Captain America, a bit of the symbol thing and how Bucky would someday take up that name. It reminds her of herself a few years back. THE UNCERTAINTY, I MEAN.
I think given the way things are going and excluding canon mates, next to Matt, Bucky is someone she can learn to trust here. He's charming but intelligent and resilient in her eyes. He's already up there in her if-you-hurt-him-I-will-inflict-the-pain-tenfold.

In canon Kate had a Superman T-shirt which was twenty years ago which... idk Clark's canon well enough to say HEY HE WAS OPERATING 20 YEARS AGO AND THAT WELL KNOWN ALREADY? Help me, Boobs. But okay, nonetheless, Kate has always respected Supes and that goes for Kara, too. She's different than she expected but not in a bad way; she's very grounded and it helps Kate to realize she's just as ~human~ as everyone else. She probably used to go :|a at the articles slinging shit at Kara. There's definitely a lot of respect for her and she has fun talking to her, so there's really nothing negative going on here.

stressbaking nill
Similar to how she feels about Ruka -- anyone Nill's age shouldn't be in this world. It's worrisome to her, especially now that Nill has been kidnapped once before and that no one was able to rescue her during that time which, as per usual, leads her to self-project a little without realizing it. Things they have in common despite the fact this should never happen: being kidnapped and then frightened as hell when found. She wants to protect Nill, because she does care about and like her, but there is where a lot of inner conflict arises. Lots of them delve into her own capabilities when it comes to children. If being a vigilante didn't require protecting her identity, she'd invite Nill to come live with her. She finds her to be also quite naive and innocent but is oddly okay with this and will patiently explain whatever she doesn't understand. Nill's one of the rare people in the City who Kate is actually capable of doting over!

123youreit vic sage | THE QUESTION
For Vic, initially when they met Kate didn't really give a damn about first impressions or the like, either assuming Renee told him things or that he had his own assumptions about her, so when she and Renee would get all pissy with each other and Vic was standing right... there... she just didn't care. He was just some dude who was probably going to get Renee into trouble. She did worry slightly but her own stubbornness prevented her from reaching out anymore and you remember Renee shut her out to keep her safe.
Speed up to Vic and Renee uncovering the prophecy about Kate, Vic getting sicker and eventually on the verge of dying painfully. Then speed up to now, here in the City and yay mixed feelings. On one hand, because of how close Renee was with him and from she had seen of them working together, he's a good ally to have. But there's some guilt that comes from not being able to help him despite all the money she has. I think, a huge chunk of her understands there wasn't a way to save him, but it doesn't lessen the guilt. She doesn't lose sleep over it, though she selfishly wonders if they'd been able to do something for him would Renee have never left Gotham.
Of course, now in the City, it was a big shock to see him alive. His ... aliveness made her wonder if she was SERIOUSLY DRUGGED upon arrival and dreaming. It did shake her up, stirring up some painful memories -- but it's not HIM. He's sort of a figure of her past who is now part of her present. :( But she does care about him and he's the person she trusts the most here. When he was ported out there was a lot of, "Oh crap, he's dying a painful death again. :(" But yeah, Vic's a good person in her eyes, even if she's got a tendency to roll her eyes at some of his puns. Surprisingly, he doesn't pry much into her personal life and she's glad for that right now. 'Cause if it ever happens and he presses she'll get grumpy. :c
