So my roommate left for Arizona yesterday to pick up her daughter for the summer. She'll be back today. I would be enjoying the space more if, when I took the cover off the budgies' cage this morning, one of them hadn't been lying on the bottom, dead as a doornail.

The hell? I mean, they had food and water, and it wasn't that cold last night.

Oh man... I'm really sorry. In my experience, though? Parakeets are like light bulbs. They often just die for no reason at all. I'm sure it wasn't anything you or your roommate did that caused it. But still, it's sad when an animal dies. I hope they understand.

I could never have a bird. They're so fragile. I can barely care for plants. I would be nothing but a constant bird murderer. *hugs* Sorry that had to happen to you while your roommate was away.
