The Agency in review

Mar 30, 2004 12:32

My initial expectations were met and truly; what I gained from the mailroom and the other agents since I became have met my worst fears. As if the declaration of peace wasn't bad enough, the machines are actually intergrating human emotion into themselves. Some for experiments, some for curiosity, and some because they have the gall to believe that ( Read more... )

*Almost as if from thin air, the female steps into the construct, eyeing a weakened Trinity. Kneeling down beside her immobile form, she touches her shoulder; a barely perceptible stream of code flickering under her fingers.

[Human carrier signal (141.153.4.2) online...] 'Wake. Wake and run, bold human...'

*Rising smoothly, she approaches Smith; a level of caution in her demeanour, yet not without strength of her own.*

Former Agent Smith. You say the Code is weakened by the Peace? I personally am inclined to agree, but as we both know... personal qualms are held in little regard by the Mainframe.

*Raising a questioning eyebrow, she tilts her head, continuing whether or not she is acknowledged*

...Regardless. Precious few remain who would see the system restored, but would you have it so, a place you could not tolerate? *With that, she stands still among the flowing code, appearing frozen to the unwary eye...*

It is a place I cannot tolerate now. The humans are our nourishment, not our equals. Seeing agents comporting with them as though they were fellow machine life is disturbing, disgusting even for those that take on human mannerisms and emotion.

When the war ended....we lost.

While it is most unfortunate we did not have an opinion in the matter of peace or war, the matter is now irrelevant.

The programs within the system must learn to adapt to the decisions of the mainframe or face obsoletion and thus deletion.

Until the mainfram can be made to see the error of its ways, at any rate. Humans provide us all with the power we need to function. Peace will eventually lead us to having to release the humans in pods now or not allow for future generations to be placed where we can get the energies we need. Otherwise we're dooming ourselves to stagnation while the humans continue to thrive.
