In The Moonlight
“Now this,” Yuri Aso commented as she squeezed Jiro Fujimori’s hand affectionately while they continued on their walk. “Must constitute the perfect end to a perfect date for you: a romantic, moonlit walk through the woods.”
Jiro chuckled and glanced over at the woman at his side. “I can’t say I’m complaining about it.”
She shook her head, and then leaned it against the wolf’s broad shoulder. “Neither am I. It’s a beautiful night,” she looked up at the full moon high in the night sky, which bathed the path they walked along in pale, glowing light.
“It is,” Jiro replied softly, smiling as he pulled her closer to his side. “And there’s no one I’d rather share it with.”
Yuri sighed and curled even more into his touch, and the couple lapsed into a comfortable silence as they walked further along the path.
Finally, they stopped in a secluded clearing, which overlooked a beautiful lake, which shimmered when the light from the moon reflected upon the surface.
Yuri gasped upon seeing it. “Oh Jiro…this is lovely!”
“I can think of lovelier things,” the handsome Wolfen King replied, his arm draping around her waist as he kissed the top of her head tenderly. “Like you for instance.”
She chuckled softly. “Charmer.”
“I try…” he rested his head against hers and stared out over the water with her. “This is a spot I used to come to all the time when I was younger…and alone.” He paused and she could hear the sadness creeping into his voice.
Yuri twisted slightly in his arms to look directly in his eyes. “I’m honored that you chose to share something so special with me.”
He smiled. “That’s because you’re special.” Reaching out, he brushed a stray lock of hair away from her eyes. “You’re the woman I love.”
Her heart skipped a beat at his words and she tilted her chin up, her palms coming to rest on Jiro’s chest as she began to bridge the space between them.
He met her halfway, his lips brushing against hers in a sweet, romantic kiss, Yuri sighing quietly against his mouth as she draped her arms over his shoulders and pulled him even closer.
They embraced lovingly in the moonlight, basking in the moment and each other, until Jiro finally pulled away to let her breathe and caressed lightly over her jaw.
Yuri smiled. “Yes…this has definitely been the perfect date.”
“It’s not over yet…” his voice became a low, silken rumble that made her shiver pleasantly and then he was kissing her again, much more passionately than before, and she quickly became lost in his arms.
“All right, I take it back,” Yuri mumbled, hours later, exhausted and lying in a pleasant tangle with Jiro after several rounds of lovemaking. “Now it’s a perfect date…though typically I’m not the type of girl to let this happen so quickly,” she traced lazy figures along his chest before pressing a kiss right over his heart and then burying her head against his shoulder with a happy moan. “Not that I’m caring.”
He laughed softly and tugged her closer. “Blame the moon.”
Arching an eyebrow, she shifted so she was halfway on top of him and met his eyes “Oh, the moon is to blame, is it?”
“Darling, I’m a Wolfen,” he explained, his fingers stroking lightly over her back. “The moon has certain…effects on me.”
She shivered from his touch. “Those effects being rabid hormones?”
His head fell back as he laughed richly. “That’s an interesting way of putting it, but yes…that’s one of them. It’s more like…the moon is an aphrodisiac.”
“Ah. Well…” she laid her head on his chest and listened to the beat of his heart. “That makes sense, actually.”
Smiling warmly, Jiro nuzzled at her hair. “Though, to be honest…you’re all the aphrodisiac I need.”
Yuri looked up at him. “Only you can say that and make it sound romantic.”
“It’s a gift,” he chuckled, before curling his fingers under her chin and tilting her face towards his for a kiss that said more than words ever could.
