[She chuckles.]

But you're doing something though. What is it?

I am... [... what is it that he's doing?] --speaking.

And how does this relate?

It is because humans are mortals that I address them in such a fashion.

[A pause as he... tries something. Hm.] Though it seems that you are hardly the mortal you look. State your name.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

Why would I know a mortal, let alone remember them by name?

Most festivals or holidays do have a reason for being made in the first place, so they're not pointless to anyone who celebrates them.

[He's asking mortals....he should answer, right? It's not that he's immortal, but then....he's not human who he's probably referring to the most.]

Sometimes I don't understand some of the rituals that go on, either, but I just find festivities like this to be fun! It gives everyone something to do and even new opportunities to experience something new!

I know I've never been to a festival like this before. My kind don't usually go to things like these since we're a very secluded kind of people, so I think it's a wonderful way to learn something new and get into the spirit of something while participating!

[Hm. Interesting.]

And what exactly do you mean by 'getting into the spirit' of something?

I mean trying to think like the people that made the tradition and festival.

Sometimes that makes it more fun because then you can really feel why the people celebrate what they celebrate.

Then in the end, you'll have a broader perspective on life.

A broader perspective on life... Is that what it is...?

[A pause.]

What purpose does this 'broader perspective' serve?

[how interesting he referred to them as "mortals".]

I think it depends on the occasion, but I believe festivals are just events to bring people together and have fun.

Is that all? Because I am almost certain that there are other ways to accomplish those two things without the need of ritual and... statue building.

I think it depends on the culture. But I thought statues were a common tradition made in honor of whomever or whatever the celebration is for.
